CRL 2022 20-Win Challenge Winners by Region Over Time

August 13, 2022 · 1 min read

See how the 20-win winners are distributed by region and time.

By grouping the 20-win winners by region, and then putting them in hourly segments (as a date histogram), we can see a cyclic pattern of when players have won their challenge.

If the stacked bar chart above is not clear, you can see this more clearly with the split bar chart below:

Looking at the charts, we can see that different regions have different peak hours and points where they’re likely asleep:

  • NA
    • Highs: 21:00 UTC
    • Lows: 12:00 UTC
  • JAPAN
    • Highs: 13:00 UTC
    • Lows: 22:00 UTC
  • EU
    • Highs: 15:00 UTC
    • Lows: 06:00 UTC
  • LATAM
    • Highs: 23:00 UTC
    • Lows: 11:00 UTC
  • OTHERS
    • Others include multiple continents so there aren’t clear separations.

Player activity oscillates regularly every day, but it adds up to a high amount of active players at all times.

Daily spikes happen when the 3 regions converge: night in Asia, evening in Europe and morning in America — with peaks approximately at 17:00 UTC and valleys at 09:00 UTC.
