Inferno Dragon Evolution
A few days ago we got to see an animated teaser featuring Inferno Dragon during a casting.
As many players guessed, this is the new card evolution for June, and today we’ll be sharing all the details.
Our rule of 2 card releases per month failed last season, so it’s unclear what we should expect moving forward. The Clash Royale team hasn’t mentioned changes to their content release schedule.
The Inferno Dragon evolution card description says the following:
With the new and improved InfernoTank2.0™, Inferno Dragon Evolution keeps its beam charged and deadly even when it has nothing to melt. But even the best tank doesn't last forever.
Evolution Stats
As with recent evolutions, Supercell avoids giving basic stat buffs. The main stats of the normal Inferno Dragon are the same as the evolution.
Same Hit Points, same range, same damage (mostly)... all the basic stats look as the normal Inferno Dragon. But its fuel tank seems different.
Evolution Ability: Beam Momentum!
Normal Inferno Dragon had to reset its fire beam whenever it retargeted, making it weaker against several mid-sized units and moving targets.
Evolved Inferno Dragon has upgraded its fuel tank and is now able to keep the strength of its beam for 9 seconds. This means that if it finds a new target within that time window, it’ll be able to resume the beam. This includes Crown Towers.
However, the Beam Momentum isn’t immune to stun effects, which will still reset the strength as usual.
On top of this change, Evolved Inferno Dragon has a 4th stage that doesn’t exist with the normal one. After dealing 49 ticks of damage, the 50th starts dealing double damage. In terms of uninterrupted attack, this means 20 seconds of beam for this last stage to be activated.
Damage Type | Time | DPS |
---|---|---|
Stage 1 | 0 - 2 s | 88 |
Stage 2 | 2 - 4 s | 300 |
Stage 3 | 4 - 20 s | 1,055 |
Stage 4 | 20 s + | 2,110 |
The 2,110 DPS is almost as powerful as the maximum Inferno Tower DPS, which is 2,117 DPS at Level 11.
During normal battles, this last stage of damage is unlikely to ever be reached.
Evolution Cycles
Inferno Dragon needs 2 Cycles to activate the evolution, so 1 in every 3 deploys will be evolved.
Evolution Release
The Inferno Dragon Evolution will be released on June 2nd, with the start of the new season.
Usually, card evolutions are released slightly before the end of the season, which is the first Monday of the month. As soon as this happens, you can unlock it with Wild Shards. After the new season begins, players who buy the Diamond Pass Royale get 6 Inferno Dragon shards to unlock it.
Other ways to get Inferno Dragon shards are:
- Level Up chests
