In recent months, there have been 2 clear content release patterns:
- 2 evolutions
- 1 evolution and 1 new card
Mega Knight will be the second of 2 evolutions to be released next season. We have already covered Pekka, which is included with Pass Royale. Mega Knight will be available ~2 weeks later, through an in-app purchase (IAP).
The evolution card description says the following:
Mega Knight's other great love, besides his mustache, is boxing.
With each attack, this Evolution uppercuts his target and sends them flying toward the nearest enemy Crown Tower.
Mega Knight will be the first Legendary card to evolve in Clash Royale. This doesn't make it harder to obtain, but it does affect the conversion value of overflow Evolution Shards:
Rarity | Wild Cards | EWC Value |
---|---|---|
Common | 1,000 | 1,000 |
Rare | 250 | 1,250 |
Epic | 40 | 800 |
Legendary | 4 | 6,000 |
Champion | 4 | 16,000 |
The conversion value of Legendaries and Champions is more appealing than other rarities, and you might want to buy them just for this if they ever appear in the season shop. For comparison, Magic Books give 5,000 Elite Wild Cards (EWCs).
Evolution Stats
The general direction for new evolutions is to avoid basic stat buffs, and Mega Knight follows this rule. The main stats of the normal Mega Knight are the same as the evolution.
Evolution Ability: Mega Uppercut!
Evolved Mega Knight has learned to throw very powerful punches to enemy troops. Targets of the Mega Uppercut fly into the air, and are pushed back 4 tiles towards the closest enemy tower.
This knockback distance is enough to trigger his jump attack, so you can see a succession of uppercut-jump attacks if he isn't distracted with other targets.
Although Evolved Mega Knight still deals area damage with his basic attack, Mega Uppercut only affects the main target. This means that only one troop is pushed back per attack, even if he deals area damage to more neraby troops.
Mega Uppercut doesn't deal additional damage, enemies only suffer the usual area damage.
The knockback effect isn't dependent on troop weight, meaning that even heavy Golems will fly into the air.
Evolution Cycles
Mega Knight needs 1 Cycle to activate the evolution, so 1 in every 2 deploys will be evolved.
Evolution Release
The Mega Knight Evolution will be available through an in-app purchase (IAP) during next season. No other details are confirmed yet, but we expect something similar to previous seasons:
- Released the second/third week of the season
- Around $10 USD in the shop

Other ways to find Mega Knight shards are:
