A few weeks ago, during the promotion of “The Royale Will”, one of the videos briefly showed a mysterious image that hadn’t been shown before.
Due to the strong similarities with Clash of Clans’ Super Witch, players guessed this could be related to a future evolution.
It seems they were right! This image turned out to be the key art for Evolved Witch.
Witch Evolution
In recent months, there have been 2 clear content release patterns:
- 2 evolutions
- 1 evolution and 1 new card
Witch will be the main evolution of the season, which is the one you can unlock with Pass Royale. We don’t know yet what will be the additional content for this season.
The Witch evolution card description says the following:
Your Skeletons are willing to sacrifice themselves for their beloved Witch, lending their souls and healing her when they’re destroyed.
Evolution Stats
As with recent evolutions, Supercell avoids giving basic stat buffs. The main stats of the normal Witch are the same as the evolution.
Evolution Ability: Healing Bones!
Evolved Witch has the ability to heal herself when your skeleton troops are destroyed.
Similar to Evolved Bats, Witch also can heal herself past her base HP. Her limit is at 130% (100% base + 30% extra), which at tournament standard is 1,090 HP. That’s just enough to survive a Lightning strike!
Whenever a Skeleton dies, the “soul” has a travel animation towards the Witch, similar to the one Skeleton King has. This animation takes 1 second, meaning that Skeleton deaths don’t heal the Witch instantly.
When a soul reaches the Witch, she is healed 109 HP at tournament standard. For context, 109 HP is:
- 1/8 of the base HP (13%)
- 1/10 of the max HP (10%)
So, for example, after the 4 Skeletons of her first spawn die, she is healed 4/8 of her base HP (50%).
The Evolved Witch doesn’t just heal with her spawns, there are other Skeleton troops that heal her as well:
- Normal Skeletons
- Evolved Skeletons
- Guards
This includes Skeletons from other troop spawns, like Skeleton Army, Tombstone and Skeleton Barrel.
Although they seem similar, this list doesn’t include “cloned” Skeletons, which are obtained from the Clone spell or Skeleton King’s ability.
Evolution Cycles
Witch needs 1 Cycle to activate the evolution, so 1 in every 2 deploys will be evolved.
Evolution Release
The Witch Evolution will be released on May 5th, with the start of the new season.
Usually, card evolutions are released slightly before the end of the season, which is the first Monday of the month. As soon as this happens, you can unlock it with Wild Shards. After the new season begins, players who buy the Diamond Pass Royale get 6 Witch shards to unlock it.

- Using Wild Shards
