Archers Evolution will be the latest Evolution card in Clash Royale. It will be available in Season 53 (November 2023).new card update
In case you missed the teaser images, or somehow you weren’t able to decipher them, it’s Archers! Archers are the new evolution!
This is the 9th evolution to be released in Clash Royale, and the second air-targeting ranged troop. Firecracker and Archers have many similarities: 3 elixir cost, range damage, air-targeting... but their evolutions take them in fairly different directions. The Archers’ evolution description says as follows:
These Archers have been specially trained by Archer Queen herself as her personal sharpshooters. They deal double Damage to far away enemies with Power Shot!

Evolved Archers have these stat buffs:
- +25% Hit Points (HP)
- +30% Range
The HP increase is similar to the Firecracker one: enough to survive Arrows but not to survive Fireball. The extra range of 6.5 tiles is the same as Dart Goblin’s range.
Other stats are the same as the non-evolved Archers, like Hit Speed and basic damage.
Evolution Ability: Power Shot!
Evolved Archers reach farther away with their arrows thanks to their Power Shot ability, and they also deal more damage!
The Power Shot is only used to reach targets outside their usual range, so from 5 to 6.5 tiles. For closer targets, they shoot their normal arrows.
It’s worth noting that when Archers are approaching their target, they'll stop at the 6.5 tile distance. This means that when reaching enemy towers and troops they’ll start by dealing Power Shots. Only if the target moves closer will they transition to normal arrows.
Double Power Shot area
When using Evolved Archers, it will be essential to place them properly to maximise the amount of Power Shots. If deployed too far away, one of the Archers may not reach her target; if too close, one Archer will just deal half of the possible damage.
Archers deploy 1 tile apart, so this creates a very narrow area in which both Archers remain in the right place to deal the Power Shot damage. This is the "Double Power Shot" area:
Archers need 2 Cycles to activate the evolution, so 1 in every 3 deploys will be evolved. This is similar to other cheap card evolutions, like Firecracker, Skeletons and Knight, which also need 2 Cycles.
As we mentioned earlier, the extra HP for the evolution will help them survive Arrows damage. Here are a few more spell damages for comparison:
|Troop / Spell
|Normal Archer HP
|Evolved Archer HP
|Earthquake + Snowball Damage
|Royal Delivery Damage
So that is the only relevant change with spells, Earthquake + small spell will still be enough to destroy them.
The Power Shot damage does change some interactions with swarmy troops, mainly with goblins:
|Troop / Damage Source
|Normal Archer Hit
|Spear Goblin HP
|Power Shot Hit
|Ice Spirit HP
|Guard Shield HP
This could be useful to defend, but remember, if these troops are deployed on top of the Archer she will not activate Power Shot.
The Archers Evolution will be released on November 6th.
