Cannon Evolution
Yesterday we covered Musketeer Evolution, which is the main evolution of Season 65; today we are looking at Cannon, the second evolution.
This evolution will be available around 2 weeks into the season, when you’ll be able to buy it through an in-app purchase (IAP).
The Cannon evolution card description says the following:
When this Evolution is deployed, it barrages both sides of the Arena, dealing damage and knocking enemies back.
Who doesn’t love the smell of gunpowder in the morning?
Evolution Stats
As with recent evolutions, Supercell avoids giving basic stat buffs. The main stats of the normal Cannon are the same as the evolution.
Evolution Ability: Deploy Barrage!
Evolved Cannon enters the arena with 9 projectiles that damage and push back enemies.
When you hover Evolved Cannon over the arena, you’ll see a new indicator to show the area affected by this new ability.
The total of 9 targets are divided into 2 rows. The first one sits 7 tiles above wherever you deploy your Cannon; it has 5 targets. The second row has 4 targets, and is aligned with the front of your Cannon.
Depending on where you deploy your cannon, these two rows will move up or down, but the horizontal distribution of targets doesn’t change.
Under normal circumstances, Deploy Barrage won’t be able to reach your opponent’s Crown Towers, but it gets close enough to potentially act as offensive AOE support.
Once you get a tower down and are able to place troops on the other side of the arena, you’ll be able to reach the King Tower!
An important detail to keep in mind is that the area damage indicators don’t actually match the area damage affected by Deploy Barrage. These indicators show a radius of 1.5 tiles, but the projectiles actually damage a bigger area, with 2.5 tiles of radius.
Seeing the real area for the offensive position makes it look stronger as AOE support.
The real damaged area covers the arena much more thoroughly, barely leaving any space between impacts. There are even some areas in which impacts overlap, but it seems troops can only receive damage once from these impacts; i.e.: you can’t deal double barrage damage.
Troops reached by any of the explosions are also pushed back 1 tile.
Damage Stats
Deploy Barrage damages both Air and Ground targets. At tournament standard (level 11), it deals 320 HP of damage.

This is enough to destroy small troops; everything from Skeletons and Bats up to Archers.

Evolution Cycles
Cannon needs 2 Cycles to activate the evolution, so 1 in every 3 deploys will be evolved.
Evolution Release
The Cannon Evolution will be available through an in-app purchase (IAP) during next season. No other details are confirmed yet, but we expect something similar to previous seasons:
- Released the second/third week of the season
- Around $10 USD in the shop
- Evolution IAP paired with a non-exclusive emote
