“Robotic Renaissance: Pekka Zap Dance” is a collaboration between RoyaleAPI and Milo the Great. It was made just for fun. Mainly, to see if we could turn the Clash Royale arena into a stage for dance and music.
Milo sent me a clip of Pekka and Zap Evolution a couple of months ago and asked if we would like to use it for something. I looked at the clip and saw that I could turn it into something a lot more, by beat-mixing inside Ableton Live.
This is a technique that I have developed on my own almost 15 years ago — at a time when I would remix news clips I shot for journalism purposes and remixed into something that you could dance to.
I believe that there are a lot of opportunities to create new ideas out of existing things. Milo has created his own genre of entertainment by orchestrating troops inside a game. I wanted to push this concept further by experimenting on my own ideas.
It was a true collaboration in every sense, and I had a lot of fun making it!
