Final Balance Changes for June 2023 (Season 48)

Goblin rework, Ice Wizard buff, Night Witch buff, Skeleton Dragon buff, Battle Healer buff, Phoenix nerf, Goblin Hut nerf, Might Miner nerf, Ice Spirit nerf.

Final Balance Changes - Clash Royale 2023-06 Season 48 Update

Final balance changes are here! Based on your feedback, Supercell has removed the balances for Baby Dragon and Poison, added a new one for Phoenix, and tweaked the numbers for Night Witch and Mighty Miner.

Here are the details. The final balance has 9 changes: 1 rework, 4 buffs, and 4 nerfs.

These balances will be live after a maintenance break on Tuesday, June 6th, 2023. The exact time is unknown, though historically they that balance maintenance trends to happen around 9am UTC, but sometimes as early as 7am UTC.

Goblins (Rework)

Supercell intended this rework as a nerf. It changes the deployment delay of each Goblins from 0.1 to 0.2 sec. This staggering deployment will make them less effective at surrounding units, part of what makes Goblins powerful in the recent meta.

Deploy delay is expressed in seconds. Speed is expressed in per-second (sec-1) Therefore the change is -50%, i.e. 50% slower.

Ice Wizard (Buff)

Ice Wizard’s popularity has slowly gone down recently, so he’ll get an increase range for his spawn attack, going from 2.5 tiles to 3 tiles.

Night Witch (Buff)

Night Witch will get 1 bat at death. If you are familiar with the bat death spawn over the years, when she had 2 bat death spawn, she is very strong. When she had none, she is week. I’m glad that Supercell has decided to take the difference and consider having 1 bat instead of the 2 bat. In fact, there are other ideas being discussed that are in fact fairly interesting, which has to do with some new game mechanic. But it would also be hard to understand the change without a full video explaining it. You don’t have to worry about that since the change is now simple — 1 bat spawn on death.

Skeleton Dragons (Buff)

Skeleton Dragons don’t see a lot of usage these days except in Fireball bait decks. They will get a small HP increase and also an increased spacing. This increased spacing strategy has worked well for Rascals. Let’s see if it’ll have the same effect for Skeleton Dragons.

Battle Healer (Buff)

Battle Healer doesn’t see a lot of light besides being used in Elixir Golem deck. By giving her a slight boost, we might start seeing her in other decks.

After balance, she will gain a Spawn Heal. The amount of healing (95 base at Lvl 3, 201 at Lvl 11) is approximately twice that from a single heal of her regular attacks (48 base at Lvl 3, 101 at Lvl 11). The Spawn Heal Radius will be 2.5 tiles, approximately 50% of the range of a Heal Spirit

Phoenix (Nerf - NEW)

Everyone has been calling for a Phoenix nerf, so this is now added. Instead of nerfing all the respawn state stats as has happened in the previous balances, the bird will be getting a nerf that’s significant. Her hit time will be lengthened from 0.9 to 1.0 sec, effectively making her hit 10% slower.

Goblin Hut (Nerf)

Goblin Hut has been extremely popular in the recent meta. It’ll get two less Goblins on death spawn.

Mighty Miner (Nerf)

Mighty Miner usage has been relatively high (12% in UC, 19% in GC). He’ll get a HP reduction after balances, but not as drastic as before. Instead of -6.5% as previously planned, his health will be reduced by 2.2% only. 2.2% is fairly small and I wonder if it will be noticeable at all.

Ice Spirit (Nerf)

Almost all top players had commented about how effective Ice Spirit is and how much value it brings for 1 elixir. After balances, it will get a 0.1 sec reduction freeze duration. It’s -7.7% less time on freeze, will it be enough?
