Clash Royale League (CRL) 2022 Overview

Players will qualify for World Finals through community tournaments and a special in-game event in the summer.

Clash Royale League (CRL), organized by the game developer Supercell, is the most important esports event of the year for Clash Royale.

In 2022, the rules of the league has been greatly simplified. Players will no longer have to go through multiple monthly qualifier rounds to compete on a competitive leaderboard.

Instead, players with the aspiration to compete on the world stage will get opportunities to qualify in several different events where they can earn a golden ticket to go directly to the World Finals.

Golden Ticket Tournaments

Throughout the CRL season and starting from the end of February, there will be up to 8 major tournaments hosted by the community that will offer a Golden Ticket to the winner (Top 1) to go straight to the CRL World Finals.

Four of these tournaments have already been identified, with up to 4 additional tournaments to be announced.

  • Bernard Chong Cup (BCC)
  • Queso Cup (QC)
  • ESL
  • Royale MSTRS
  • TBA (To Be Announced)
  • TBA (To Be Announced)
  • TBA (To Be Announced)
  • TBA (To Be Announced)

All of these tournaments will be played in 1v1 Duel Format, and each tournament will have a prize pool of $50,000 USD.

6 Weeks of Clash Royale League

Besides the 8 Golden Ticket Tournaments, there will be a special in-game event — tentatively called the 6 weeks of CRL. Details about this event are not known yet, but it will start in August and last for six weeks.

8 players will be able to qualify through this in-game event.

World Finals

At the end of the CRL season, 16 players will take part in the World Finals.

  • 8 will qualify through the Golden Ticket Tournaments
  • 8 will qualify from the 6 weeks of CRL event

Unlike previous years, the World Finals will take place from September 23 - 25.

Additional Community Events

In 2021, Supercell has officially supported more than 35 global and local tournaments. For the year 2022, the are more committed than ever and want to amplify and empower more community esports projects.
