Royal Ghost Evolution
October brings us another season with 2 evolutions. We have already covered the details of Skeleton Army, and today we’ll look into the secondary evolution of the season.
Royal Ghost isn’t the main evolution because it won’t be featured in Pass Royale. But considering its strength, it could very well become the most popular one of the two.
Royal Ghost’s Evolution is expected to arrive on October 17th. It will be available in the shop after 9am UTC, although we don’t know the pricing for these offers yet.
The Evolved Royal Ghost description says the following:
Once he’s visible, Royal Ghost summons two Souldiers to guard his spirit, dealing damage in their summoning. When they’ve rested long enough, they’ll disappear just like their leader.
Who doesn’t love a good hauntourage!
Evolution Stats
As with recent evolutions, Supercell avoids giving basic stat buffs. The main stats of the normal Royal Ghost are the same as the evolution.
Evolution Ability: Ghost Souldiers!
Dealing with an invisible Royal Ghost was already tricky, and this evolution takes that to the next level.
Whenever an evolved Royal Ghost turns visible with an attack, he’ll trigger 2 things:
- Area damage
- Spawn 2 Ghost Souldiers
Souldiers are a new kind of troop that only spawn from this evolution. Their stats are a mix between a Royal Ghost and a Skeleton:

They have the Hit Points of a Skeleton, but deal Damage like a Royal Ghost. They also inherit the invisibility ability, which triggers after they stop attacking.
The area damage is caused when the Souldiers spawn, 0.2 seconds after the ghost turns visible. At level 11, that’s 261 to a circle with 1 tile of radius; the damage only affects ground units. This amount is the same as the damage dealt with each attack, around that of The Log.
Whenever Royal Ghost appears, he’ll spawn 2 new Souldiers. This means many Souldiers can be created from a single ghost, as long as he keeps hiding and reappearing, which can happen on defence.
Evo Ghost vs a tower
When an evolved Royal Ghost is left to attack a tower, he can cause a significant amount of damage even at low HP. This is a basic sequence of events:
- Ghost attacks and turns visible (+261)
- Tower targets Royal Ghost
- Area damage and 2 Souldiers spawn (+261)
- Tower from the other side targets the Souldier of the inner side
- Inner Souldier is killed before he deals damage by the tower of the other side
If the Royal Ghost died from the first shot, the tower has time to deal with the second Souldier before it lands a hit. But if the Royal Ghost keeps tanking, Ghost and Souldier will keep attacking.
So total minimum damage is 522, but double or more if the Ghost can tank more than one hit.
Evolution Cycles
Royal Ghost needs 2 Cycles to activate the evolution, so 1 in every 3 deploys will be evolved.
Evolution Release
The Royal Ghost Evolution will be released on October 17th, with an in-app purchase. You can also get it from the Supercell Store where you’ll earn free bonus rewards!

In addition to unlocking the Royal Ghost Evolution, you’ll receive two legendary emotes

Other ways to get Royal Ghost shards are:
- Level Up chests
- Live Events (in a future seasons)
- Shop Offers (in a future seasons)
- Legendary Lucky Drops
- Using Wild Shards
- Seasonal Lucky Chests
This month with have 2 kinds of Seasonal Lucky Chests, both of which contain Royal Ghost shards and a full evolution.
- Haunted Lucky Chests can also drop Skeleton Army, so the chance to get Royal Ghost is cut in half
- Phantom Lucky Chests can only drop Royal Ghost as evolution shards
The relevant probabilities for the Haunted Lucky Chests are:
- 1/857 chance to get a Royal Ghost shard in each chest
- 1/5,144 chance to get a full Royal Ghost evolution in each chest
- 1/258 chance to get a full Royal Ghost evolution by opening 20 chests
And as we just mentioned, the odds are 2x better for the Phantom Lucky Chests.
On top of this, the "pity rewards" can guarantee up to 2 Royal Ghost shards if you open enough Seasonal Lucky Chests during October.
