The April 2023 season will be themed around Archers, which has still be dominating the meta ever since their buff two months ago.
There will be 2 new tower skins, 7 new emotes, and a whopping 40 banner items for everyone to enjoy.
Season 46 begins on Monday, April 3rd, 2023. Balance changes will be applied via a maintenance break on Tuesday, April 4th, 2023.

Arenas
Boot Camp Arena
The arena for April’s battles will be the Boot Camp, a location that resembles the Training Camp, but with a noticeably greener and lusher grass.
Path of Legends Arena
As you’ve seen in the Q1 update, Path of Legends now come with its own arena. Many players have found some Easter Egg in its surroundings. Did you find them?
Tower Skins
This season, two tower skins can be obtained; the first is included in the Gold tier of Pass Royale, while the second can be purchased at the shop.
Archer (Pass Royale Gold)
The Archer tower skin consists of a green fabric tower for the princess and a pink-flowered king tower, adorned with Archer's blue cape and bow. Owners of the Gold and Diamond Passes can unlock this skin at Tier 48.

Boot Camp (Shop)
The boot camp tower set includes a king tower with a golden emblem and a princess tower with a cloth wrap and target puppet. It's cute and perfect for the current arena. This tower can be purchased at the shop for $1.99 USD.

Emotes
There will be seven (7) new emotes this season.
Archer: Arrow Fail (Gold Pass Royale)
Archer attempts to shoot an arrow, but it fails. Unlock this at Tier 96 of the Gold Tier of Pass Royale.
Archer: Super Sight (Shop)
Archer focuses at aiming. Get this in an in-app purchase with the Boot Camp Bundle, which includes emotes and banners.
Dark Prince: Mace (Path of Legends)
Dark Prince smashes a practice target that was hit by an arrow. Get this when you reach League 4 (Master 1) on the Path of Legends.
Dark Prince: Sleepy (Season Shop)
Dark Prince’s helmet features an eye covering which was closed. Rocks hit on the helmet, and he opens to see what’s going on, then returns to sleep.

King: Belt (Ultimate Champion)
Weary with sweat, the King reaches the pinnacle of the Ultimate Champion League, proudly displaying his champion belt. This emote replaces the King Emperor emote and is available to players who make it to League 10 this season.
🚨Update 2023-04-06: This emote will be available in the April 2023 season only, when Path of Legends are played in Mega Draft mode. It will switch back to the King Emperor emote for the May 2023 season, when the game mode changes back to regular 1v1. IF Supercell decides to use other game modes in the future, then this emote will come back, though we obviously don’t know if/when that will happen.
Prince: Epic Silly (Season Shop)
The sun slowly rises from the horizon, and the Prince quickly closes the visor of his helmet. Watch our video above to gain a better understanding of this scene. I’d be honest and say that being disturbed of the sun is what I think is happening… I don’t completely get what’s going on here. If you have a better explanation, let me know! 😅

Prince: Lance Clean (Season Shop)
If you’ve been playing Clash Royale for a while, you’d know that when Clash characters die, they become elixir drops. Prince’s lance is covered with them, so he wipes it clean with a handkerchief. What a gentleman.

Books that used to be free are now available for purchase in the Season Shop. Every season will come with one book, and an Epic Book can be bought for 15,000 Season Tokens. Other available items in the shop include Wild Cards, Banner Items, and Emotes.

Cherry Blossoms, also known as Japanese Cherry or Sakura, are found throughout East Asia, particularly Japan, where it is considered the national flower. They typically bloom from March to April in the Northern Hemisphere, and mark an important festival in many places. An upcoming banner box is expected to include special items made to celebrate the blooming of Cherry Blossoms.

As you know, there aren’t special challenges in the new update. We’re told that win-based challenges will still return at some point, but the next season won’t have any of them. The “Feature Node” is the main game mode on the Events tab, and it will have different special game mode each week.
We’re only able to show you the first Super Archers game mode right now. We’ll show you the rest of the game modes later next week,
Super Archers: April 3-9
Super Troops are back! Super Archer is a Legendary card costing 3 Elixir. Although she has no direct damage output, her stats are highly impressive.
Main Attack
Super Archer shoots arrows like a regular archer, but with a unique effect: she creates a mini tornado that pushes troops away, similar to the Log
The surprising fact is that the regular Archers and the Super Archers cost the same elixir but the Super Archers cannot be killed by Fireball!
Our gameplay session featured an amusing situation: a defensive Super Archer surviving indefinitely, while Royal Giant and Hog Rider could barely connect with the towers because they kept on being pushed away.

Super Archers 2 (Golem Spawner): April 17 - 23
Super Archers are back! Unfortunately, we have not yet seen a preview of this event, since it is not yet available in the development build. We do know that Golems will spawn every 15 seconds, but we aren’t sure of the exact locations. It may be similar to the other spawner events, with a gradually increasing number of spawns.
We’ll be able to show you this game mode next week.
Champion Draft: April 24-30
Standard draft with Champion cards. This game mode was changed last minute. We’ll let you know what it is next week.

The new season's loading screen is packed with humor, giving viewers a warm welcome. Upon closer inspection, several characters stand out from the crowd. 😳
Path of Legends
Here’s one of the most important changes of the season — and it’s a big one. As you know, after the Q1 update, you could only earn crowns victory gold from Path of Legends or Trophy Road.
But for the April season, the Clash Royale team has decided to change things up a bit and will remove the standard 1v1 game mode from PoL. Instead, you’ll be playing Mega Draft from League 1 to League 10.
Unlike previous seasons, where leagues have increasingly higher card level requirement, all the leagues will be capped at Level 11. Path of Legends usually uses card levels of the player collection, so being able to play at Level 11 instead of maxed level should be a welcoming change.
Being capped at Level 11 is not the same as friendly mode — if you haven’t upgraded all the cards to at least level 11, you’ll be playing underleveled.
Steps
The number of steps required for each league has been reduced by 20% due to extended battle time required for Mega Draft.

Clash Royale League (CRL)
The top 1000 players from the April season will be qualified to play in the CRL, regardless of the game mode change.
Opinions
Personally, I don’t think that reducing 20% of the steps is enough to compensate for the time to play Mega Draft. As you know, card picking in Mega Draft could take 16 x 15 sec = 240 sec = 4 minutes. If you’re like me who often hop into Clash Royale for a quick game, committing 7-9 minutes for every game would be difficult. So I suspect that I’ll have to be extra committed to play in April.
If you want to skip the steps quickly, make sure that you push as high as possible this season. For example, getting to Ultimate Champion this season will get you 10x multipliers for next season. Having 10x multipliers means that you’ll be able to gain 55 steps after 10 games (or put in other words, skipping 45 steps). This puts you much closer to that shiny new emote at League 10.
Mega Draft is a great game mode that experienced players can enjoy. It levels the playing field by using Level 11 cards and eliminates the possibility of sniping at the end of the season because of the lack of constructed decks. So many players might enjoy this, and I hope that you will.
FAQ
Will Mega Draft be played in Ultimate Champion (League 10)?
Yes. You’ll be playing Mega Draft in the Ultimate Champion league for the April 2023 season. It’s not just for League 1-9.
What happens if I haven’t unlocked a card?
The selection will still be there, but it will be greyed out and you won’t be able to pick it.
Why are card levels kept at Level 11?
Not everyone has a maxed account with every card maxed. Playing at card level 11 will truly test the skills of the player.
With Mega Draft will the game mode moving forward?
This is intended as a test by the Clash Royale team. Game mode should return back to 1v1 normal battle in the May season. However, I would assume that the data and learnings from the April season will be used for other ongoing discussions they’re having.
Will Trophy Road be in Mega Draft also?
No. Mega Draft will be the game mode for Path of Legends (ranked mode) only. Trophy Road will continue to be played using your card levels and your constructed decks.
