Mortar will be the newest and 5th card evolution in July 2023.

A new card evolution every season! July will be the first month to feature a new evolution, and it’s going to be another win-condition: Mortar. Will it be strong enough to stand against the Evolved Royal Giant?

Evolved Mortar
Evolved Mortar looks like a premium version of the regular one, with a polished finish and golden embellishments. But there’s something else that might grab your attention: a green head with pointy ears hiding in the bore… it’s a Goblin!
When the Mortar shoots its projectile, the Goblin is launched with it. After the collision, the Goblin seems unscathed and ready to stab the nearest target.
The green stowaway isn’t the only difference for the Evolved Mortar, other changes are:
- 20% more Hit Points (HP)
- Shoots 25% faster (1/5 ➜ 1/4 hits per second)
Other stats like damage per hit and range will be the same as the non-evolved version. Mortar needs 2 cycles to activate the evolution, so 1 in every 3 Mortars you deploy will be in the evolved form.
Cycles: 2
Different evolved cards take different amount of Cycles to get to the evolved form. Cheaper cards like Mortar take longer to evolve. You’ll need to go through 2 deploys before getting to their evolved form.
Monk Reflection
If you use Monk’s ability against the Mortar, then the the Goblin will be reflected towards the Mortar.
